Biography

<p>A talented soccer player who played for Norwich City FC youth squad, Lowestoft, England's Anthony Ogogo found his true love in the ring where he has been competing since the age of 12, and that devotion led him to the 2012 London Olympic Games, where he won a Bronze medal as a member of Team Great Britain.</p>

<p>His success earned him a promotional contract with the pre-eminent promoter in the sport of professional boxing, Golden Boy Promotions, in early 2013.</p>

<p>A talented amateur competitor who won a Junior Olympic Gold medal and Silver medals at the Commonwealth Games and European Championships, Ogogo earned a place on Great Britain's 2012 Olympic team, and in London this past summer, Ogogo beat representatives from the Dominican Republic, Ukraine and Germany to win a Bronze Medal, thrilling his fans from throughout the United Kingdom. </p>

<p>It was a star-making turn for the charismatic Ogogo, a former model who has met the Queen of England, was a cast member of the 2008 hit reality show "Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack," appeared in advertisements for the sandwich-chain Subway throughout the UK, and even competed on the show “Strictly Come Dancing."</p>

<p>In 2013, he began his journey as a professional, hoping to follow in the footsteps of several British superstars who have fought under the Golden Boy Promotions banner, including Amir "King" Khan, Ricky "Hitman" Hatton and David "Hayemaker" Haye.</p>

<p>Ogogo's professional debut on April 27, 2013 saw him stop Kieron Gray in two rounds, and he has remained perfect through eight bouts.</p>

<p>His most recent win was a six-round decision victory over Ruslan Schelev on July 18, 2015, a win that marked his first victory since a long stint on the sidelines due to surgery for an Achilles injury.</p>
