LOS ANGELES, CA (March 3, 2008) – A 168-pound world title shot will be on the line on Saturday, March 22, when all-action battler Librado Andrade and European standout Robert Stieglitz square off in a high-impact bout that will shake the foundations of the super middleweight division. This 12-round IBF World Title Elimination Bout will take place at the Morongo Casino Resort & Spa and will be televised live on HBO’s Boxing After Dark, beginning at 10:05 p.m. ET / PT.

In the Boxing After Dark main event, the WBO Interim and Ring Magazine Lightweight World Championships will be up for grabs when Joel Casamayor takes on unbeaten power hitter Michael Katsidis in what’s expected to be an early candidate for 2008 Fight of The Year.

Tickets for “Desert Storm,” which is presented by Golden Boy Promotions, are priced at $200, $100 and $50, are on sale now, and can be purchased at the Morongo Casino Resort & Spa Box Office at 1-800-252-4499 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.

An exciting warrior with concussive knock-out power in both hands, La Habra, California’s Librado Andrade (26-1, 20 KO’s) refuses to engage in boring fights. Winner of all but one of his 27 pro fights, with his lone loss coming via decision in a hard fought title bout against Mikkel Kessler in 2007 in Kessler’s hometown of Copenhagen, Denmark, Andrade closed out last year with a second round stoppage of Ted Muller and a seventh round TKO of Yusaf Mack that earned him the vacant USBA Super Middleweight crown. Currently ranked fifth in the world by the IBF, Andrade is eager to get another world title opportunity with a win over Stieglitz on March 22nd.

Ranked fourth in the world by the IBF, 26-year-old Robert Stieglitz (31-1, 19 KO’s) has thrilled fight fans in Europe for years and now he’s ready to do the same Stateside. A seven-year veteran of the pro game, Stieglitz – a native of Russia now making his home in Magdeburg, Germany – burst onto the world scene in 2005 with an 11th round stoppage of Alejandro Berrio. Although he would suffer his lone career loss in a subsequent rematch to Berrio a year-and-a-half later in a bout for the vacant IBF Super Middleweight Championship, Stieglitz has since won two bouts and hopes to make it three in a row against Andrade.
