12:00 p.m. "Fit For An Amir 'King' Khan" Washington, DC Arrival Photo-Op
WHAT:Unified Super Lightweight Champion Amir Khan will pose for photo opportunities at some of Washington's most historic landmarks and memorials to kick off "Capital Showdown" fight week. This is the only event of its kind during fight week and, as no other city affords the potential for such great photo-ops, it should not be missed. Stops on the route will be (in order from the departure location):
Steps of the U.S. Capitol Building, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, and the White House (South Lawn Gate). Media transportation will be provided.

WHAT:Members of the media are invited to come see the stars of "Capital Showdown" workout at the Kennedy Recreation Center. The fighters in attendance will showcase their boxing prowess and talent for District youth and their families from the DC Dept. of Parks and Recreation boxing program (capacity 300). With five fighters back-to-back in the same building, it is certain to be a high-energy atmosphere that will heighten the tension and excitement leading up to fight night.

1:00 p.m. Official Washington Welcome As Big Time Boxing Returns To The District
WHAT:Mayor of the District of Columbia Vincent C. Gray and Council Chairman Kwame R. Brown will hold a press conference on the steps of the John A. Wilson Building to give the city's official welcome as big time boxing returns to Washington, DC. Several of the "Capital Showdown" fighters, including the Peterson brothers and Seth Mitchell will be in attendance, as well as representatives from Golden Boy Promotions, HBO Sports and Events DC. Special appearance by legendary current Light Heavyweight World Champion Bernard Hopkins.

Thursday, Dec. 8

WHAT:All of the "Capital Showdown" fighters will appear together for the final press conference at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Joined by Olympic Gold medalist, Ten-Time World Champion and Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar de la Hoya and legendary middleweight and current Light Heavyweight World Champion Bernard Hopkins, the fighters will give their final thoughts before they enter the ring Saturday night.

WHAT:Big-time boxing's return to Washington, DC brings out the big-time stars at the "Capital Showdown: Khan vs. Peterson" Official Weigh-In. All of the event's featured fighters will weigh-in. Special guests include former Olympic Gold medalist, Ten-Time World Champion and Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya and legendary current Light Heavyweight World Champion Bernard Hopkins.

CREDENTIAL DISTRIBUTION:
Credentials will be available for pick up in the grand lobby of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center (off of Mt. Vernon Place NW) on Saturday, December 10 beginning at 1:00 p.m. and ending promptly at 10:00 p.m. Proper photo identification will be required for credential pick up.

"Capital Showdown: Khan vs. Peterson,"a 12-round Unified Super Lightweight World Title Fight for Khan's WBA World Super Championship and IBF World Championship taking place on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Khan Promotions and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate, DeWalt Tools, AT&T and MicroTech. Also featured will be a 10-round heavyweight battle between Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell and Timur Ibragimov.
