Tristan Kalkreuth is a 17-year-old standout amateur from Duncanville, Texas who started his professional path in boxing after signing a contract with Golden Boy in June 2019. The young man is a two-time USA Boxing National Champion in the youth division under 18, after having more than 100 amateur fights. Kalkreuth started boxing at the age of 9 under the guidance of his father. He has since added the expert tutelage of well-renowned trainer Ronnie Shields, who has trained numerous top fighters like Mike Tyson, Vernon Forrest, Arturo Gatti, and Juan Diaz.

Kalkreuth made his professional debut at the Vergil Ortiz Jr. vs. Antonio Orozco undercard on August 10, 2019 which took place at The Theater in Grand Prarie, Texas. The light heavyweight fighter won in front of his hometown fans by technical knockout over Kynndale Prather. The newest member of the Golden Boy family made a second appearance shortly after on August 23, where he defeated Aaron John Valentine at Arabia Shrine Center in Houston.

Now, Kalkreuth is training to confront the 32-year-old challenger Twon Smith in a four-round cruiserweight fight. The exciting fight will be part of Canelo vs. Kovalev’s undercard, which will take place on November 2nd at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
